This is the shocking moment hikers slipped on an icy hill, knocking other walkers over like skittles.

Footage captured by Ms Yu shows tourists wearing colourful plastic raincoats climbing the snowy terrain in Hunan, China.

Moments later, two holidaymakers wearing matching blue coats glided down the steep hill, hitting people on the roadside.

One of the vacationers can be seen spinning his whole body until he falls into a ditch, following his friend behind him.

This prompted some of the onlookers nearby to immediately check on the duo and reportedly help them out of the ditch.

Local media reported that the pair did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.

China's winters, lasting from late November to March, are famously harsh and cold, marked by strong winds, dry air, and sporadic frost and snow.

Skittles are small, round, and smooth, which makes them less stable on flat surfaces. Unlike more angular objects, which may interlock or sit sturdily in place, round objects are more likely to roll or shift with minimal disturbance—just like the hikers, who slipped and caused others to tumble like skittles in a bowling alley.
