A fairground ride operator appeared amusingly calm while standing on the back of a swinging pirate ship.

Footage shows the worker leaning his back on the bow of the extreme ride being rocked back and forth at an amusement park in Manila, the Philippines, on December 16.

He almost looked bored while the customers held tight onto their seats and screamed.

Onlooker Gherico Nuestro Arcilla, who visited the park, said: 'He stood there effortlessly after trying the ride so many times. He was like a pro.'

Sitting at the bow part of a Viking ship ride gives the fullest force of swings. The bow of the ride also tends to experience the strongest G-forces as it reaches the peak and swings back down.
