"Trolls say my leopard print home is tacky - but I'd never want to be boring"
A mum obsessed with leopard print and colour has filled her wardrobe and house in the style - and says trolls call it "tacky" but she'd never want to be "boring"."
Simone Bevan, 39, has always been surrounded by animal prints as her mum, Liz, 61, had a leopard print sofa.
Simone says her wardrobe is 60 per cent animal print - and the rest is colour and sequins.
Every day she steps out wearing at least one animal print piece and has now let her love influence her home interiors.
Simone went all out on a leopard print staircase, a pink shaggy wall in her make-up room and has a flamingo themed bathroom.
Despite trolls calling her "tacky" Simone loves her style and putting a smile on people's faces."
Simone, a make-up artist, from Llanelli, Wales, said: "Every single day I wear something leopard print - shoes, bags or a coat."
"60 to 70 per cent of my wardrobe is leopard print."
"The rest is sequins and glitter - anything eye catching."
"I don't like to be normal."
"I have always been a bit eccentric."
"This is me - this is what I like."
Simone remembers being surrounded by prints as a toddler.
She said: "I've got photos of my as a two-year-old on a tiger print throw at my grandma's."
"It's been subliminally injected into me."
Over the years leopard print has turned into her firm favourite and she has filled her wardrobe with different colour coats and items in the print.
After splitting with her ex-partner in August 2022, Simone decided to "sod it" and go "full hog" decorating her house."
Now she has a leopard print staircase, shaggy pink walls, and a leopard print knife set.
Her new partner, Aimee, 35, a warehouse operative, wasn't sure about the leopard print stairs to start with but now loves it.
Simone said: "Aimee was trying to calm me down and said what about black and white leopard print but I said I've got to do it properly."
"When I walk out it puts a smile on my face."
Simone's daughter, 17, finds her mum's obsession "cringe" but Simone wants to show her to embrace what she loves."
She said: "I have 100 per cent brought her up to know what she likes is OK."
"She doesn't have to stick to a trend."
"Life is too short to be normal and boring."
"I don't stick to what people think is acceptable."
"Leopard print is trending now - I'm in fashion."
Simone shared an insight into her leopard print and colourful home on TikTok and was slammed by some trolls.
She said: "One person said 'I feel sorry for you - this is the tackiest thing'."
"I feel sorry for them living in their boring grey lives."
"My favourite comment was 'it's Kat Slay-ter'."
Simone is hoping to redecorate her bedroom next - and is hoping to sneak in some more leopard print if Aimee allows.
She said: "I'm not a millennial grey house girl - I want everything different."
"I would hate for someone to come in my house and feel like it's a normal boring looking house."
"I want people to come in and go 'this is amazing' or have an opinion."
