STORYLINE:
The Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and China's Academy of Dazu Rock Carvings plan to create a joint laboratory in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality for cultural relics protection and restoration.
The Chinese institute will hire Italian experts as chief scientists to drive research, innovation, and experience sharing.
Between 2016 and 2022, Chinese and Italian experts have cooperated to protect and restore the sculptures in the Shucheng Rock of Dazu Rock Carvings.
