Tourists were caught dragging away a motorcycle with its wheel locked in Thailand.

Valet parking staff member Somsak Lechai witnessed the incident on the road near Patong Beach in Phuket on Tuesday, December 17, around 11:30 pm.

Footage shows one foreigner sitting on the motorbike, its tyres locked, while another individual in front pulled a chain, dragging it along the road.

Somsak, who was stuck in traffic, said he heard a taxi driver shouting at the tourists, warning them not to move the motorcycle as the cops had locked it.

He added: 'However, the foreigners refused to listen and insisted on dragging it away.

'I intended to film it in case the police were searching for this motorcycle so I could show it as evidence.'

Police Major Chamnan Sapsin of Patong Police Station launched an investigation on Thursday. He confirmed that the motorcycle had been locked by one of Somsak's colleagues for improper parking on private land.

When the tourists noticed the clamp on their motorcycle, they ignored it and proceeded to move it away.

Chamnan added: 'We have contacted the motorcycle's owner, but we could not reach him as he did not pick up the phone.'
