This is the moment a brand-new electric car exited an underground garage and crashed through a barrier before colliding with a parked vehicle outside.

CCTV footage shows the dark-blue SUV speeding out of the basement and breaking through a barricade in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China, on Sunday, December 15.

It then struck a parked car at the exit.

The Xiaopeng G9 SUV sustained front-end damage, with its windscreen shattered and its doors bent.

The parked vehicle was also impacted, with a broken rear windscreen and a crumpled rear door.

Local authorities confirmed that several people were injured in the incident.

Preliminary findings suggest driver error, though further investigation is underway by the traffic management department of the public security agency.
