International photographers and directors have hailed efforts to protect the Great Wall, China's largest-scale cultural heritage.

The visitors made the remarks Saturday in north China's Hebei Province while attending a promotion event on Great Wall protection.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): FRANCOIS NADEAU, Canadian photographer
"I think you're doing a really good job already. Any tourist or any people that visit China wants to see the Great Wall. It's a cultural heritage not only for China but for the world."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): CLIVE ROWLAND, British photographer
"Like I mentioned, in China, you look at the wall here, you can see it's here now and it's gonna be here for many years ahead because the wall is such a strong image of China. It's very important to preserve that image."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): ALADIN FARRE, French director
"I've been living in China for some years. There are a lot of interesting history and cultural relics in China. I think international cooperation and learning mutual exchange is something really important. At least we can learn from each other's history, and that's always a good thing."
