SOUNDBITE 1 (English): LUIGI D'APOLITO, Italian professor at Xiamen University of Technology
"Actually, when I moved to China since 2010, I felt that China had the potential over growing in this sector. Because actually one of the biggest advantages of China about the electric vehicles, I think, is that China started much earlier than other countries to plan and develop the plans for the electric vehicles. So these made me more confident when I relocated from Italy to China."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): LUIGI D'APOLITO, Italian professor, Xiamen University of Technology
"In the last 12 years, I saw a very great transformation of the Chinese automotive industry, in particular for the electric vehicles. In the last years, many new brands went out for the production of electric vehicles and a very large number of new models or electric vehicles developed. This strong growth of the electric vehicles market in China, I think, is also a very good opportunity for automotive engineers or researchers like me, because the stronger competition between the electric vehicle companies also pushed a lot of the need of innovation, and the innovation requires also strong investment. These strong investments help the electric vehicle sector to grow, but also offered a lot of opportunities for the researchers, for the engineers that can contribute to these developments."
