"I worked while in labour and 5cm dilated - I gave birth six hours later"
A nurse worked while in labour and 5cm dilated and gave birth just six hours after her shift.
Luba Golosinskiy, 26, started work at 7am on July 17, 2024, and gave birth to her second daughter, now four months old, just 10 hours later at 5:18pm, weighing 7lb 15oz.
Luba - from Spartanburg, South Carolina - where women are required to work up until their due date -
said: "For the most part this pregnancy was pretty straightforward."
"It was rough at times, especially as I had to work throughout my whole pregnancy. The hardest part was working right up until my due date."
"I went into work at 7am to start my shift and I left the next day with my baby daughter."
"Holding her on my chest for the first time was amazing."
"I think any mum can relate to that first moment the baby goes on your chest - it is the most indescribable feeling."
"It is the greatest feeling in the world, a wave of emotions hits you when you first hear them cry."
Luba was 39 weeks and four days pregnant when she began her eight-hour shift.
But at around 11am, she started getting frequent contractions and asked her manager if she could be checked out.
Husband Avenir Golosinskiy, 33, then had to make a drastic dash to the hospital with her stuff.
She said: "I knew I was already 5cm dilated, so I asked if I could go get checked. I went in and they checked me and admitted me around 12 noon."
"My husband arrived around 1:30pm, he drove down straight from nursing school and went home to grab my stuff."
"It was a very quick birth, my water broke at 3:30pm and as soon as it broke my contractions started picking up quickly."
Luba's older daughter, aged two, met her younger sister at 4pm the next day.
Luba added: "She came in and she kind of knew what was happening - we prepared her that she was having a little sister."
"She was a little nervous but she warmed up to her pretty quickly."
"She loves her little sister so much."
"For me, it was very emotional for sure, seeing your first baby meet your second baby makes you realise how fast time flies by."
