On December 12, 2024, in Anhui, located in eastern China, a video captured an unexpected incident involving a glass tea cup. A young woman, dressed in a white long-sleeve shirt, attempted to demonstrate the use of a promotional cup gifted by a store.

As she poured boiling water into the glass cup, it suddenly cracked, spilling the scalding coffee inside. Although the woman suffered a minor burn, she was unharmed and used the opportunity to caution viewers against using low-quality promotional glassware.

Chinese netizens chimed in with safety advice, reminding others to pour boiling water only when the glass is stable on a table, noting, “Glass cups can crack from thermal expansion when they’re too cold.”
