This is the dramatic moment a father saved his autistic son from wandering onto a busy road in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows single dad Phakin Kawiradach bolting after the 13-year-old boy who was running toward the highway in Yasothon province on December 23. He tackled the boy to the ground just as a truck was passing by.

Phakin said he had taken his son to the office at the Paktang Subdistrict Administrative Organisation during the youngster's holiday break.

He said the boy had likely wandered off to follow a campaign truck that was blasting an election jingle.

He said: 'This road is a straight line, and vehicles here drive quite fast. Recently, many sugarcane trucks have been passing frequently too.

‘My son is on his New Year break so I brought him to my workplace because I am a single father. I always have to be careful when he is near water, roads, or tall buildings.'
