This is the heroic moment a driver saves a toddler from drowning after spotting the child fall into a fountain.

Dramatic footage shows the child slipping into the 3ft deep water feature, struggling and unable to climb out in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on December 19.

A pharmacist who had just parked his car and was about to open his drugstore saw the child He then ran over, jumped into the area, and rescued the boy.

A nearby cleaning staff member heard the commotion and quickly rushed to help.

Reports said the two-year-old boy was the child of a vendor. His mother, busy preparing her goods, had let him play nearby when he wandered off and fell in.

The pharmacist advised the parents to give the child medication to prevent any potential illnesses from the water.
