A six-year-old boy miraculously survived and calmly walked home after being run over by a car in India.

Footage shows Raghav Kumar Chavan playing alone when a cab carrying passengers struck him while turning in Vasai, Palghar district, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, December 25.

The driver reportedly fled the scene without stopping.

A local businessman identified one of the passengers in the cab and contacted the driver after the incident.

The driver initially denied involvement but agreed to cover the child's medical expenses after seeing the CCTV footage. He has since avoided contact and has not visited the injured child in the hospital.

Raghav was admitted to Valvadevi Hospital in Waliv with injuries to his head, chest, and hands. His condition remains critical.

A police officer said: 'We are working to identify the owner of the car and determine who was driving at the time of the incident.'
