Rescue teams are battling to save a three-year-old girl stuck in a 700ft deep well in India.

The youngster named Chetna was reportedly playing on her father's property with her sister when she accidentally slipped into the borewell in Kotputli-Behror, Rajasthan, on Monday, December 23, around 1:30 pm.

Footage from the camera lowered onto her shows Chetna in the narrow well with her hand moving more than 45 hours after the incident.

Rescue efforts have been underway with troops from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and other government agencies.

Initially, officials attempted to save her using a hook attached to 10ft iron rods, but it was unsuccessful.

Officials said rescue plans are currently in progress. They said the first plan involves using a JCB to dig a 10ft hole near the borewell, while the second involves excavation with the piling machine.

An air tube has been lowered down the borewell to ensure the child has an oxygen supply. Additionally, four ambulances are on-site to provide immediate medical assistance if needed.

On December 9, the rescue team also saved a five-year-old boy when he plunged down an uncovered 150ft borewell in the same state. Oxygen was supplied to him, and he was stuck for at least 19 hours.

In China, a six-year-old boy trapped in a 33ft deep well was rescued on November 30. Authorities said the boy had slipped into the narrow well, with a diameter of less than 30 centimetres, and became stuck at a depth of about 5 metres, wedged against the wall in Dashi Village, Xihu Town, Fuyang, Anhui. He was pulled to safety and is reportedly unharmed.
