A transmission tower collapsed, killing three workers and injuring six in India.

Reports said a 70ft, 400 KV power line tower toppled in the Sidhi area of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, December 26, around 12:30 pm.

Sidhi Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma said the employees were replacing old structures with new ones when one of the electrical pylons gave way.

Two died at the scene, and the third succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, who are believed to be from West Bengal.

The injured were being treated at Sanjay Gandhi Medical College in Rewa.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
