This footage shows an overweight dog weighing more than 143lbs barely able to get out of a car and walk into a fat camp centre for rehabilitation.

Misha, a brown furry dog weighing 143lbs (65kgs), was sent to the facility to be treated for her health issues.

The retired guard dog was reportedly abandoned by his owners and fed by two women who threw scraps over their fence.

Upon noticing that he could no longer walk properly, an animal welfare team decided to help Misha lose weight, aiming to reduce him to 55 lbs (25kgs).

Footage shows concerned volunteers assisting the canine as he struggles up the steps to the fat camp centre in Bryansk, Russia.

Despite stumbling under his own weight, Misha managed to get inside the building.

He is now being fostered by a Bryansk resident who carefully monitors his diet, with volunteers regularly taking him for medical procedures.

The poor dog reportedly suffers from diabetes and struggles to eat and sleep properly.

Obesity in dogs can cause serious health issues, including diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, skin infections, anaesthesia risks, and a shorter lifespan, as well as conditions like Cushing's disease, urinary incontinence, and breathing problems.
