STORYLINE:

Liupanshui City, nestled in the mountains of southwestern China's Guizhou Province, has become an unexpected haven for skiing enthusiasts.

Home to three alpine ski resorts at an average altitude of 2,400 meters, the area can accommodate up to 15,000 skiers daily.

This winter season, the Yushe ski resort opened to the public on Dec. 20.

"Our pre-sale ticket sales exceeded 3.3 million yuan (about 452,000 U.S. dollars) before Dec. 20. This year, we've also launched a direct shuttle service from the city center to the ski resort. Visitors can enjoy a convenient ride priced at just 10 yuan (about 1.4 U.S. dollars) per trip."
