Fake bimetallic one pound coin vs real one pound coin comparison
A counterfeit £1 coin has recently been found by a coin collector in their change. The new 12 sided bimetallic coins were released back in March 2017 with manufacturers stating they were harder to fake. The new bimetallic coins have a holographic feature at the bottom of the coin, that changes from a '1' to a '£' symbol when tilted. The coins also feature micro writing in which you need a magnifying glass to see it. The micro writing reads 'ONE POUND' on the obverse (front) side of the coin & the reverse side has the year. The coin collector has produced this video to show you a comparison between the fake and real coins.
