Fireworks for the arrival of the new year at Lido di Ostia, the 10th Municipality overlooking the sea of Rome.
01/01/2025 - Rome, Italy. Fireworks for the arrival of the new year at Lido di Ostia, the 10th Municipality overlooking the sea.
Even in Ostia and also this year the anti-fireworks ordinance was completely disregarded and the inhabitants celebrated the arrival of the new year as per tradition with numerous fireworks starting already in the minutes before midnight.
In Rome, it will be forbidden to use firecrackers and fireworks 365 days a year. This is what is provided for in the amendment to the Urban Police regulation under discussion at the Environment Commission of Rome Capitale. An initiative that comes a few days after the signing, by the mayor Roberto Gualtieri, of the anti-firecracker ordinance for New Year's Eve 2025. In fact, last December 28th, Mayor Gualtieri signed the ordinance that prohibits their use for the entire period from midnight and one minute on December 31st until midnight on January 6th.
Meanwhile, in recent days, law enforcement has focused on fighting illegal firecrackers. In the province of Rome, 200 kilos of pyrotechnic material were seized. Another half quintal was seized in the city, with checks especially in the Corviale and La Rustica neighborhoods.
