Floods Cause Chaos in North-West England as Homes Evacuated and Residents Stranded

Severe flooding has wreaked havoc across north-west England, leaving residents stranded, homes evacuated, and transport systems disrupted. A major incident has been declared as heavy rain continues to lash the region.

In Greater Manchester, areas including Stockport, Bolton, Didsbury, Harpurhey, Stalybridge, and Wigan have been hit the hardest. Large parts of Lancashire and Cheshire are also underwater, with emergency services working tirelessly to respond to the crisis.
Rohima Karim, West Didsbury resident tells
"Flooding where I am in Manchester—our power has been cut off, so we have no heating or electricity. The police and fire brigade said they couldn’t help, so we were stranded here."

Rohima captured these scenes on Palatine Road in West Didsbury. She described the ordeal of being without electricity or heat until rescue services arrived late in the afternoon to evacuate residents to safety.
Authorities have urged residents to stay updated through local councils and fire and rescue services. The situation remains dire, with significant disruption to holmes, transportation, and daily life.
As the north-west grapples with these devastating floods, communities are left picking up the pieces while awaiting further weather updates. For those affected, the struggle to rebuild has just begun.
