US, Los Angeles: Canoga Park Scooter Rider Killed in Crash at Westfield Topanga With Sound On Tape
Los Angeles, United States - December 28, 2024 12/28/2024 11:00 am (GMT-0800) CANOGA PARK, LOS ANGELES – A man riding an electric scooter was killed after being run over by an SUV exiting the Westfield Topanga mall, Los Angeles Police Department officials confirm. The incident occurred in the 6800 block of North Owensmouth Avenue in Canoga Park shortly before 11 a.m. as the 17-year-old driver of an SUV proceeded to make a southbound turn onto Owensmouth, according to LAPD Sgt. Scott Vostad. The SUV collided with the rider and crushed the man. LAFD responded and pronounced the man dead. LAPD is investigating whether or not the driver stopped at a stop sign before colliding with the scooter.
