Syria: Syrians face challenges as new gov't takes office amid economic pressures
Syria - Recent After years of war and siege, Syrians are confronting the urgent needs to improve living conditions and revive the economy amid high hopes and economic strains. Residents continue to bear the heavy toll of a long-lasting conflict that has devastated infrastructure. The new administration faces immense challenges in addressing the pressing needs of the population, some of which are beginning to be met gradually. The situation regarding electricity remains dire, with a shortage of both fuel and transformers. While transportation has improved with the availability of fuel, high prices and ongoing power outages remain significant issues.
