Los Angeles, United States - December 26, 2024 12/26/2024 11:33 pm (GMT-0800) CYPRESS PARK, LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Police Department officers and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision shortly after 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of West Avenue 26 at Figueroa Street. LAPD initially requested traffic units for a possible fatality. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital by LAFD paramedics, where the victim was pronounced deceased, according to Officer Drake Madison, a spokesperson for the LAPD. The driver of the sedan that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and appeared to be cooperating with officers. The cause of the collision is under investigation by LAPD's Central Traffic Division.
