STORYLINE:
A batch of emergency relief supplies offered by the Chinese government arrived in Vanuatu's capital Port Vila on Thursday.
The 35-ton aid includes tents, folding beds, solar lights, food, water purifiers and medical equipment.
The Pacific island nation was hit by a 7.3-magnitude earthquake on Dec. 17, killing at least 14 people, injuring more than 200 others, and severely damaging the capital city's infrastructure.

The Chinese government has provided 1 million U.S. dollars in emergency assistance to Vanuatu to support its disaster response and reconstruction efforts, said Li Ming, spokesperson for China International Development Cooperation Agency last week.
