STORYLINE:

As the new year began, foreign expats living in different parts of China shared their hopes for 2025.

Luke from Ireland and Alex from the UK have been documenting their experiences in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region through travel videos. Their goal is to explore the region more deeply and promote it to the world.

"We're probably going to continue what we're doing and learn more from our fans. We've built a big fan base and every one of them is helping us. They've been writing to us. We read them, and we take their opinions and then we'll be able to learn more and more and more about Guangxi and China, the whole of China."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ALEX, British vlogger
"Exactly, and the more we learn, the more we can understand, maybe a route you can take throughout Guangxi that we could show to the rest of the world. And it'd be good for tourism here."

American young man Martin Lindsey recently opened a cafe in Shenyang.  

He hopes his business will thrive in the new year.

"I would like to work more on my recently opened brand because I want more and more people to recognize it. I'm gonna be happy because I've enjoyed touring in China. I've enjoyed hanging out. I've done everything."

David Geary, a British football coach, is training the football team at Guizhou University. His wish for the new year is to become a better coach and help his students improve.

"To become a better football coach and to help more students get better at football. I think that's always one of the important things when you're a teacher. Yeah, to be able to see students improving, I think that's what I would like to see. And to be able to do that, I need to put a lot of effort in. I need to keep learning myself so that I can teach them new things."
