Grazalema, Spain - January 03, 2025 Guardia Civil agents successfully rescued a hiker involved in an accident on Pico del Simancón on January 3, 2025. The emergency call activated the Grazalema station, which, familiar with the difficult terrain, requested support from the EREIM unit in Álora and the Guardia Civil’s Air Service based in Sevilla. Due to the challenging conditions, the helicopter couldn't land, so EREIM specialists descended, stabilized the hiker, and transported her by foot to a safe spot for air evacuation. The hiker was then taken to a helipad, where she was met by a mobile ICU from the Grazalema Health Center. The rescue highlighted the professionalism and coordination of all involved in a challenging operation with a successful outcome.
