New York, United States - January 05, 2025 Cars passing under toll readers that will charge drivers a $9 toll charge for driving below 60th Street, as New York City's 'Congestion Planning' goes into effect today, New York, NY, January 5, 2025. Drivers with E-ZPass willl be charge $9 to enter Manhattan going south of 60th Street between 5 a.m and 9 p.m. and $2.25 off peak hours. New York City joins London, Milan, Singapore and Stockholm in congestion pricing and the first city in the U.S. to adopt it; the monies collect are suppose to fund the MTA.
