Raging flash floods washed away village homes in Indonesia.

Dramatic footage shows flood water carrying off houses in Tamainusi Village, Soyo Jaya District, North Morowali Regency, on Friday, January 3.

Reports said a private company building was also swept away.

Authorities confirmed one employee, Samsul Alam from Lemba Sumara Village, was killed, and two others were injured.

Abdul Muhari, Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, said: 'Two other people suffered minor injuries, namely Hasna, a stoker, and Satria, a heavy equipment operator from the same company.

'Currently, the material losses experienced by the company are still in the process of being recorded by the authorities.'

The floodwaters receded, and the Kolonodale Soyojaya road is now passable. Cleanup efforts are underway.

Officials have warned the public about extreme weather that could cause similar events.
