Footage has surfaced showing the Anfield Road Stand roof leaking during Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday evening. The game unfolded under harsh weather conditions, with icy rain and snow battering Merseyside.
A video posted on X by @UnitedAways captured water cascading from the roof onto fans below. Supporters in the affected area bore the brunt of the leaks, while large puddles formed around the stadium, including the press section.
The Met Office had issued an amber weather warning, predicting significant disruption due to the icy conditions. Despite this, the city's Ground Safety Advisory Group allowed the match to proceed after two meetings on Sunday morning.
As snow turned to driving rain, Liverpool and Manchester United delivered a thrilling match. However, the unexpected roof leakage highlighted challenges faced by the stadium amid extreme weather.
