On January 2, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck Yinchuan, Ningxia. During the quake, an 8-year-old boy demonstrated extraordinary courage and responsibility by protecting his two younger sisters and guiding them to safety.

Surveillance footage shows that at the time of the earthquake, the adults in the household were away at work, leaving the three children home alone. As the earthquake suddenly struck and the house began to shake noticeably, the 8-year-old boy and his older younger sister quickly reacted. They immediately woke up their 2-year-old sister, who was asleep. Without hesitation, the boy pulled his two sisters to safety, moving chairs aside and guiding them to crawl under a table for protection. He ensured his sisters were safely sheltered before crawling under the table himself.

Later, the children’s mother, Ms. Hei, said that after reviewing the surveillance footage, she was deeply moved and proud of her son’s calm and brave actions during the earthquake. Both younger sisters were also brought to tears after watching the video of their brother’s heroic behavior.
