Poisoned pet cat rescued by firefighters in Thailand
This is the heartwarming moment a poisoned pet cat was rescued by firefighters in Thailand.
Nonglak Chana-ngam, 50, was manning her shop when she received a call that her pet moggies had been poisoned at her house in Si Sa Ket province on January 5.
The frantic animal lover rushed home and found one of the felines convulsing on the ground. She called firefighters and a local veterinarian before feeding the dying cat some charcoal to induce vomiting.
Footage shows Nonglak helping the cat down the homemade remedy of egg whites and charcoal powder. The moggie vomited the toxic bile and was rushed by firemen to a veterinarian for further treatment.
The officers also found one of Nonglak's cats dead on the roof of her house.
The grieving woman said her six cats were all strays she had adopted and raised.
She said: 'I've never had issues with my neighbours about my cats. I don't know anyone who is angry enough at me to do this. I hope karma would come back to haunt the cruel person who would hurt my defenceless cats like this.'
Nonglak added she has filed a police report following the incident.
Animal cruelty is punishable with up to two years in jail, a fine of up to 40,000 baht (925 GBP), or both under Thailand's Animal Welfare and Cruelty Prevention Act.
