US, Los Angeles: Sylmar LAPD Police Pursuit Termination
Los Angeles, United States - December 28, 2024 12/28/2024 10:30 pm (GMT-0800) SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES – A police pursuit of a vehicle ended in Sylmar late Saturday night, and two people were taken into custody by authorities. Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Division units initiated a pursuit of an alleged DUI driver on the 5 Freeway near Lankershim, chasing the vehicle for at least an hour through Arleta, Pacoima and Sylmar. At one point, the vehicle stopped in the area of Polk and San Fernando Road, where the suspect and a passenger bailed on foot. The two males jumped into nearby backyards in an attempt to evade officers. The driver was quickly taken into custody in the backyard of a residence, and the passenger was apprehended on a front porch. Officers stated the two may be armed and dangerous “violent boys” gang members. .
