US, Los Angeles: Simi Valley Meteor Caught on Ring Camera

Los Angeles, United States - January 01, 2025 01/01/2025 09:36 pm (GMT-0800) SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – A large meteor was caught falling in the southern sky above Simi Valley on a Ring camera Wednesday evening. The meteor is possibly linked to the Quadrantids meteor shower, slated to peak on Jan. 3, 2025. Southern California sky-watchers will best observe the meteor shower in the pre-dawn hours. According to the American Meteor Society website, Quadrantids will be active until Jan. 16, 2025. Its span of activity began on Dec. 26, 2024. The website also lists upcoming meteor showers for the entire year.
