A schoolboy whose foot was stuck in a waterpark foam pool was rescued in Indonesia.

Ari, 7, was swimming with family when he stepped into a drain that sucked his leg in Lampung on January 1.

He could not pull his leg out while his body was chest-deep in the water so staff members had to drain the pool manually.

Footage shows the employees forming a human chain to pass buckets and use them to empty the foam pool. The operation took an hour before they emptied the pool and saved the boy.

Park-goer Mindra Kurniawan said: 'It happened while he was playing. They could not drain the pool easily because his leg was blocking it.'

The youngster was not seriously hurt and was freed after the water was drained.
