Spa day for Frank the rescued Jamaican fruit bat: A heartwarming treat
Katelyn Campbell is filming a video of a caretaker grabbing an elderly Jamaican Fruit Bat from a pouch. Like people, bats bald with age. Sometimes the skin can become irritated/itchy, so we apply jojoba oil to the skin and give them a massage and a melon treat of course. This bats name is Frank and he is in his mid to late twenties. He was rescued from DNA research. He resides in our “Geribatric” enclosure with other senior bats. We are Bat World Sanctuary which is a non-profit accredited sanctuary, providing rescue for bats worldwide!
