On the morning of January 3, in Qingtongxia City, Ningxia, police officer Zhang Hengxiang, while on duty, spotted a small dog that had accidentally fallen into an icy hole. Unable to escape due to the frozen surface, the dog was left struggling in the freezing water.

With time running out, Zhang Hengxiang immediately rushed to the riverbank, removed his tactical vest, and decided to approach the dog.

Zhang observed that the thin ice near the bank was too weak to support a person's weight. He picked up a stone, smashed the ice forcefully, and checked the depth of the water before cautiously making his way towards the dog.

Despite the icy water being bone-chillingly cold, Zhang showed no hesitation. He grabbed the dog and successfully carried it to safety.

The rescued dog was trembling with cold, so Zhang promptly took it to a security room to warm up.

The dog has since been adopted by a caring company and has found a safe and loving home.
