Videos show "apocalyptic" fires creeping out of Pacific Palisades towards surrounding neighbourhoods - fanned by high winds."

Locals are awake through the night watching the fire tear through the neighbourhood of Pacific Palisades moving into the Malibu area.

Video taken by Sarah Moore, 29, from inside the Malibu area shows the fire moving across grasslands and hills, away from the Palisades.

The content creator who lives in Studio City, described the situation as "apocalyptic" and said she has never experienced anything like this in her life."

"Everyone is scared," she said."

"I saw a video where hundreds of people abandoned their cars on the Pacific Coast Highway."

"It looked very apocalyptic, I have never seen footage like that in my life."

"We have never had a fire like this - it is the worst I have ever seen."

"It is very windy outside, there are no cars on the road - it is very scary out there."

"In my area, we haven't been told anything, I do have a friend from Pasadena staying with me as she was told to evacuate."

"Another fire just sparked up in Woodland Hills which is being evacuated right now and that area isn't too far from here."
