US: Two Rescued After Boating Accident Near Gadsden Point
Tampa, United States - January 04, 2025 [Note: video contains subtitles] A dramatic rescue unfolded on January 4, 2025, when a boating accident left two individuals and their dog stranded after their vessel hit a cruise ship's wake and sank. At 6:11 p.m., teams from Aviation and Marine sections, HCSO Fire Rescue, and the Coast Guard coordinated efforts to locate the victims, who had swum to a nearby buoy for safety. The individuals were rescued and transported to Tampa General Hospital with injuries. Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the coordinated response: "Our team's coordinated response with other agencies led to the successful rescue of two people who desperately needed help. We will continue to work together to protect lives on our waterways."
