Canaries pose in front of traffic camera in Brazil
This is the amusing moment two canaries stole the show on traffic cameras as they posed for the lens, obstructing the view of a busy road in the background.
Footage shows two separate instances of birds blocking the view of the BR-381 road in Cambui, in the southern region of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and Vargem, in the State of Sao Paulo.
The first clip, filmed on December 16, shows a brightly coloured canary perched directly in front of the camera, blocking its view.
The second one from January 2 captures another bird doing the same in Vargem.
Arteris Fernao Dias, the company that manages the road, said the birds spent 'several minutes showing off for the cameras'.
The company added: 'The canary-da-terra bird, with bright yellow plumage and an orange spot on its head, strong and melodious song, is common in the southern region of Minas Gerais and the interior of Sao Paulo.'
'In addition to keeping an eye on the highway, focusing on the safety of users and employees during activities, daily work brings some pleasant surprises.'
The canary, a small songbird, is often recognised for its vibrant colours and melodious singing, making it a popular bird in Brazil's countryside and urban regions.
