Farmer digging well shocked after hitting natural gas that turns into fire pit
A farmer digging a well was shocked after hitting natural gas, which turned into a fire pit.
The incident occurred in Qianwei, Sichuan, China, on January 4, with reports stating that the borehole reached a depth of 272ft (83m) before encountering the gas.
Dramatic footage shows flames erupting from the ground following the ignition.
Village authorities studied the incident and concluded that the natural gas from the excavation had little mining value.
They plan to seal the shaft with concrete to prevent leakage and have already reported the incident to the government.
