United States - January 08, 2025 Jessica Fischer shared a chilling video on January 6 showing the aftermath of a massive road accident on eastbound I-70 caused by an ice blizzard, capturing the chaos of a storm that left drivers trapped for hours. Fischer described sitting in her car for 12 hours, passing 16 wrecked semi-trucks in just a minute and a half of footage, with equally severe damage on the westbound side and vehicles scattered in the median. She recounted being snowed into a motel before finally making it back on the road during a 48-hour journey from Arkansas to New York. The crash, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. Sunday near Greenup, Illinois, involved 38 vehicles, according to Illinois State Police. One person was injured, though their condition remains unclear. The icy conditions shut down I-70 in both directions until after 3 a.m. Monday as authorities worked to clear the scene. Vehicles that could be moved were towed, while police continue investigating the incident.
