United States - January 05, 2025 A woman and her two dogs were rescued from the partially frozen Timber Creek on January 5 after becoming trapped in icy waters. Gloucester Township Police and fire personnel responded to Timber Creek Dog Park at 1:45 p.m., finding the woman approximately 35 feet from shore, partially submerged in freezing water. Emergency crews used specialized equipment to bring her and the dogs to safety. The woman received medical treatment at the scene before being transported to Cooper Hospital. Fire departments from Chews Landing, Blackwood, Blenheim, and Bellmawr, along with Camden County Search and Rescue, Inspira EMS, and Virtua ALS, assisted in the rescue. Authorities urge caution near frozen bodies of water, warning that fluctuating temperatures can make ice dangerously unpredictable.
