STORYLINE:
The Sudanese government and the Chinese Embassy in Sudan on Wednesday launched the distribution ceremony of emergency food aid provided by China to the war-torn country.
Hundreds of tons of China-aided rice carried by trucks will be shipped to various parts of Sudan.
Salwa Adam Benya, Sudan's humanitarian aid commissioner, expressed gratitude for China's supportive stances towards Sudan.

"This is a real contribution from a friendly country to Sudan. This is not the first time that China has provided support to Sudan, and its support is continuing. This is the first batch of rice."
Zhang Xianghua, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, hailed the strategic partnership between China and Sudan as "strong," saying that the food aid provided by China is destined for the needy across the country.

"Today, we are very pleased to attend the distribution ceremony of the Chinese aid convoys to Sudan. These convoys include Chinese rice. They will arrive in the various states of Sudan to be distributed to citizens and the needy."
According to official statistics, 28.9 million people in the country need humanitarian assistance due to an ongoing conflict between the SAF and the RSF since mid-April 2023.
