This is the heartwarming moment a puppy was rescued from a borewell after being stuck for 10 hours.

Rescuers from Vande Mataram Dal retrieved the stranded brown pup that had fallen into a 15ft (4m) narrow pit in Haryana, India, on the evening of January 6.

Nearby residents informed Bharat, a member of the Vande Mataram Dal, that a dog had fallen into the borewell pipe, prompting an immediate response.

Upon reaching the site, they found the mother dog whining next to the pipe, seemingly asking for help.

Footage shows the team using a rope to pull the pooch out.

After over two hours of laborious effort, the team successfully freed the animal.

The dog, covered in mud and sludge, was then reunited with its mother, and the borewell was sealed with soil.

Fortunately, the puppy reportedly did not sustain any injuries from the fall.

Vande Mataram Dal, a non-profit organization, has reportedly saved the lives of hundreds of mute animals.
