This is the shocking moment a pair of brazen thieves stole a dad's £25k pick-up truck from his driveway - in less than a minute.

Jordan Wisbey, 31, has been left devastated after the beloved Ford Ranger was nicked on Wednesday (January 8).

Police are investigating the rapid theft of the limited edition vehicle, which took place at 2.15am and was captured on a security camera.

The video shows two individuals approaching the driveway - one then waits by the car while the other appears to be holding up a signal-scanning device close to the house.

Within a matter of seconds, one of the thieves is able to get into the car - which has keyless entry - and before a minute elapses they have driven away in the vehicle.

Mr Wisbey, who lives in Faversham, Kent with wife Hannah and their two children, said: "I only got the truck in March, and I absolutely loved it."

"My heart sank when I saw the driveway empty. This was our family car, and now I'm relying on my wife's vehicle just to get to work."

"I'm a hard-working family man, and this is the last thing I need."

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak Thunder is grey in colour with distinctive red stripes on the back of it.

Mr Wisbey, a bank worker, added: "It feels like I've lost my right arm."

"I locked it up last night as always, but it looks like they had some kind of device to get in."

"I don't have much hope in getting it back. I assume it's long gone by now. This is such a quiet area – it's very strange for something like this to happen."

Kent Police confirmed they were contacted at 7.45am on January 8, following the report of a vehicle theft.

A spokesperson said: "A grey Ford Ranger was stolen overnight from a driveway outside a residential address in Dan Drive."

"The theft is reported to have happened at around 2.15am. Enquiries are ongoing."

On Kent Police's website, it sets out how thieves use scanning devices to steal vehicles with keyless entry, which unlock automatically when the key comes within a short distance of the car, without the need to push a button.

Keyless car theft or 'relay theft' is when a device is used to fool the car into thinking the key is close by. This unlocks the car and starts the ignition.

Thieves only need to be within a few metres of your car key to capture the signal, even if it's inside your home. This means that even if your car and home are secure, thieves can still unlock, start and steal your car.
