Coimbatore, India - January 09, 2025 Two leopards were spotted entering a residential colony before sunrise, sparking panic among residents as they hesitated to step out of their homes. The incident took place in Valparai town, located in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, southern India, on January 9. Visuals show the leopards silently trespassing through the settlement, climbing concrete stairs flanked by houses on both sides. They paused occasionally, appearing to scout for potential prey. According to reports, the leopards had strayed into a banana plantation in Valparai, where they attacked pet dogs and chickens. Alarmed by the incessant barking of dogs, locals reviewed the CCTV footage and discovered the leopards moving stealthily. This is not the first time leopards have been sighted in Valparai's residential areas.
