Tourist's date ends up handcuffed to police truck after crashing on ride home
A tourist's Thai date was handcuffed to a police truck after they crashed into a street food stall in Thailand.
The Singaporean man and the Thai bar worker were allegedly drink driving home when he smashed a Toyota Vios into a food cart in the Soi Bua Khao red light strip in'Sin City' Pattaya in the early hours of Friday morning.
Vendor Sakda Srichok, 58, was flung away while the ingredients on his cart were spilled across the street. He suffered abrasions, cuts on his head, and a concussion.
But instead of helping the stricken seller, the couple reportedly insulted him and accused him of faking his injuries.
Passers-by detained the pair and called the police to arrest them.
Captain Sombat Kaewmulmuk of the Pattaya City Police Station said: ‘We inspected the scene and arrested a woman who was heavily drunk and claimed to be the driver.
'But witnesses reported that her foreign boyfriend was actually the driver. We will have to check security cameras to determine who is at fault before we proceed with legal action.'
Footage shows officers cuffing the Thai woman, seen in the video wearing a black low-cut top that exposed her cleavage and skimpy daisy dukes, to the bed of the police truck.
She said: 'I want to call my family, but you seized my phone. You do not have a right to seize my phone because I did not kill anyone.'
She was also said to have hurled invectives at the cops, claiming they could not arrest her 'because she is friends with high-ranking officials'.
Onlookers cheered as the woman was whisked away to the police station for questioning.
The disturbing incident is the latest issue with tourists in the bustling coastal city, where round-the-clock sex workers cater to holidaymakers.
Government chiefs have attempted to clean up the city but regular violence and depravity continue to blight its reputation.
Last month, a British tourist, 71, was grilled by police after he admitted sleeping with the the corpse of a dead prostitute for three nights before the body was discovered.
