The Gaza ceasefire talks held in the Qatari capital Doha between Israel and Hamas are 90 percent complete, an Israeli television station reported on Saturday citing informed sources. However, disagreements persist regarding the transition from the first phase of the ceasefire to subsequent phases, it reported. Hamas has demanded that Israel provide a clear commitment to implement the second phase of the agreement following the completion of the first one, ensuring no resumption of military operations. Additionally, the two sides have differing views on wording in the agreement text. Israel and Hamas have been engaged in a deadly conflict after the latter launched an attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 taken hostages. Since then, Israeli attacks have killed more than 46,500 Palestinians in Gaza, according to the Gaza-based health ministry. Indirect peace talks between Israel and Hamas have been on and off in the past months, with Qatar, Egypt, and the United States as the main mediators. In recent weeks, the indirect negotiations on a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner swap deal have gained momentum. SHOTLIST: Doha, Qatar - Recent 1. National flag of Qatar; 2.
