Bridge collapses as floods surge through villages in Indonesia
A bridge collapsed as flash flood surged through a village in Indonesia.
Footage shows the deluge battering a through bridge in East Java on January 9. The water that swept large logs eroded the structure from underneath, causing the concrete to subside.
The National Disaster Management Agency said the flash flood was caused by heavy rainfall that broke Peh River from Mount Argopuro.
Disaster Data, Information and Communication Centre chief Abdul Muhari said on January 10: 'The village bridge collapsed due to the flash flood, and this caused river water to overflow into residential areas.'
