The Utah Department of Transportation warned drivers to prepare for slick spots, low visibility, and high winds.
Traction devices were required, and travellers were advised to exercise extreme caution, especially in steeper areas and around corners.
The storm was expected to bring up to 9 inches of snow to upper canyons and 5 inches to lower elevations.
